Aligning Your Document
In order to make your document look attractive you need to make sure that you use the correct alignments while typing. This section will teach you what alignments are and when to use each type.
Changing the Alignment1. Look for the alignment buttons at the top middle of the screen. (See the example to the right.)
2. Click on the alignment button that you want. The four buttons are left align, middle align, right align, and justified align. 3. If you have already typed something, you can highlight it and then click the alignment button that you want it to change to. |
When to use:
- Left- When you are typing the introduction, body, and conclusion paragraphs of your essay or letter.
- Middle- When you are writing the title of your paper.
- Right- When you are writing your name, date, and number at the top of a document.
- Justified- When you are writing an article for a newspaper.
Formatting A Document
It is important to format your essay in the proper way. In order to format your essay, follow these steps before you begin writing:
1. Write your first name and last name in the top right corner.
2. Write your date and number in the top right corner.
3. Write your title in the middle of the page. Start a new line and start a new paragraph.
4. Start your first paragraph.
Note: Every time you start a new paragraph:
- Press the "right align" button.
- Type your first and last name.
